Sharon Macleod, BHSc, MACP (qualifying)
Intern Clinical Counsellor
Hi, I’m Sharon
I’m excited to be completing my final practicum in my Masters in Counselling Psychology program at Honeycomb. I’m in the process of transitioning from a long career in health care at BC Women’s Hospital having supported patients across pediatric and neonatal critical care, women’s health, and birthing. Through this experience I have had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life, supporting them as they navigate life's highs and lows. My experiences in healthcare—from both personal and professional perspectives—have deepened my understanding of systemic challenges and the importance of advocacy, empathy, and attuned care.
I offer a warm, compassionate, person-centered approach to support individuals on their journey of self-discovery and healing. I’m late-diagnosed AuDHD myself and a parent to ADHD, Autistic, PDA-identified children, which has provided me with invaluable lived experience and a deep understanding of the complexities that can accompany neurodivergence—especially when it intersects with disordered eating, sensory processing and communication differences, chronic or complex pain, OCD, anxiety, and depression.
My practice is rooted in creating a neuro-affirming and trauma-informed space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment. I’m passionate about helping others to learn about themselves and to find more safety and regulation in their relationships and to support families with greater compassion and clarity. I recognize how difficult it can be to access truly affirming support, and I’m committed to walking alongside clients as they build more connected, meaningful lives at their own pace.
