Rosie Ander, MC, RCC
Registered Clinical Counsellor
After a decade of experience working in early childhood settings, I recognized a longing in myself to nurture growth in children and their families on a deeper level. This led me on a path to become a therapist specializing in children in their early years and middle childhood. I’m dedicated to cultivating a therapeutic relationship in which children feel seen, heard, and respected. My intention is to expand children's emotional literacy. Approaching my work from a child-centred and synergetic play therapy lens, I believe children can benefit greatly from the power of play via sensory regulation techniques, dramatic play, storytelling, and expressive art-inspired activities.
At the heart of my practice, is establishing a sense of safety within the therapeutic space, allowing for increased capacity for regulation within the child’s nervous system. When a child feels empowered to access a more regulated state in their body, their ability to process their emotions expands and they are supported to forge authentic, vital connections with those around them. I believe that developing a greater capacity to self-regulate lays the foundation for positive social and emotional development. This paced, gentle and neuro-affirmative approach helps children gain the tools to move through their challenges and establish a lasting connection with their own natural resiliency.
